A couple of busy weeks

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I finally made it home after two weeks on the road.
Our first stop was Round three FormulaD in Jersey where we had a ok weekend. Made it to the great eight and staying on fourth place over all in the series.
Because we were already (almost) half way to Sweden we decided to head over there for a surprise trip. It turned out to be really fun to walk in to our parents houses and see their expressions.
After a few days up north of Sweden we went down to Stockholm for Stina’s brothers 40th birthday party. It was a great party with 90 people invited in a club in central Stockholm. The weather was terrible most of the time unfortunately. That’s the problem with the summer in Sweden. You never know what you will get. But when the sun is coming out everybody is doing the same.
After my week over in Sweden I went straight to a car commercial for BMW. We shot the 2010 Hydrogen X6 and 7 series. Great cars. The cool thing with their system is that when you accelerate full throttle it kicks in the electric engine too, so you get extra power.
We will be continuing shooting in downtown LA this weekend for the last part.

1000 miles of GO, Baja pre-run

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Ride along with Samuel Hübinette, Casey Currie and Tracy Jordan as they run the course ahead of the SCORE Baja 1000 race last year. While racing the 1000 is nothing to take lightly, that doesnt mean the pre-run cant be a lot of fun.

FormulaD round3

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

It turned out to be an interesting week at the round 3 event. We came out early to get some testing done on Wednesday to make sure we had the right gearing and set up.
I had not been on that track with the viper sense 2006. So I wanted to make sure we had everything under control.
Then on Friday for the qualification it was raining and collected a lot of water on the track, so FD decided to move it forward to the same day as the competition. It was the right thing to do. So Saturday we all got on the the track in the early morning and it was still a wet track but after some time it started to get better traction.

Test day FD Jersey

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Due to rain today we had to move the qualification to Saturday morning. So we will have testing 8am in the morning and then after that go straight in to qualification.
We did go out to get a feel of the wet track and it was slow and not to exiting to watch. The great thing is that I am running on the KDW’s from BFGoodrich and they are wet and dry tires. So I definitely felt in control even in the wet condition sideways.

Getting ready for FormulaDrift, New Jersey

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Today I am heading out for round three of FormulaD in Jersey. This will be our last event with the Mopar flag on. Because of the immediate pull out of Mopar we will stay in the Viper most likely for the rest of the season. It is a proven drift car for us and have been good to us.
Between last event till now I have been out to Baja for the 500 and also out to the Torc off road race last weekend. It has been great to learn more about their programs and getting down in the dirt. You gotta love it.
I have also been reaching out to other potential sponsors and I am exited about the new future for the team and my self.
I can’t wait till next weekends event and to get back in to the drift mode. The Wall speedway is a quite slow track but demanding due to its banking and elevation change in the middle of the course. Last time we competed there with the Viper I believe I won so we should be in great shape to do that again.
